Slater Matsil is pleased to announce that Chambers USA has ranked the firm as one of the nation’s leading IP and Patent Law Firms.

Based primarily on feedback from relevant industry sources, this honor is awarded to firms that have demonstrated an exceptional level of technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness and other qualities most valued by clients.

“We are gratified that our ‘knowledge of technology, solution-oriented advice, and strength at the partner and junior levels’ was recognized by our clients and peers in the recent Chambers evaluation,” said partner Srini Chakravarthi. “Just as our clients are leaders in their respective markets, we strive to maintain our role as a leader in IP and patent law,” added partner Steven Slater.

Each year, Chambers USA ranks the top lawyers and law firms across all the United States in various areas of specialization. Chambers and Partners rankings are assessed by an experienced team of Chambers researchers. Rankings are based on assessments and opinions of each firm, which are collected through interviews with peers, judges, clients and external market sources. Researchers cover a range of topics during these interviews, investigating the strengths, weaknesses and distinguishing features of a firm.

While this is the firm’s debut year in the rankings, Chambers cites that some of the team’s lawyers, most notably Ira Matsil, have also received praise for their services, and have inspired fulsome feedback for a number of years before entering the official 2020 rankings. Slater Matsil was also recognized as the Best Performing Patent Firm in 2019 by Patexia, in the top three in 2017 and 2018 by Juristat, and First in Quality in 2016 by Ocean Tomo/IAM. The firm is the 16th largest patent prosecution firm in the U.S. based on number of cases issued in 2019.
