While not a separate practice area, per se, we recognize that the field of intellectual property rights is rapidly moving and increasingly important for clients in the Asia Pacific region, particularly China and Taiwan. Understanding the cultural and business needs of our clients can, at times, be as important as thoroughly understanding their technologies.
Our Asia Pacific Group was formed to assist both newly formed and established Asian companies navigate the unfamiliar and sometimes-treacherous waters of U.S. intellectual property law and practices. Having lawyers and other patent professionals who literally speak their language and understand their culture greatly assists our clients in becoming familiar and comfortable with doing business in the U.S., and with working in their own home countries with U.S. businesses.
