Technical Advisor/Patent Agent

The position involves patent preparation and prosecution services for some of the world’s leading technology innovators.

Potential candidates should have a M.S. or Ph.D., preferably in the electrical, telecommunications, semiconductor, or computer science and engineering fields, and a proven ability to quickly learn new technologies along with excellent communication (verbal and writing) skills. For Technical Specialists, prior experience in patent prosecution is beneficial but is not required. Successful candidates will learn from some of the best legal minds in the industry while servicing research and development projects and technology market leaders from around the world. We actively encourage professional growth and career development, including opportunities to attend law school and become a Patent Attorney while working at the firm.

Leadership Track: Slater Matsil offers Patent Agents a unique leadership track. Upon at least eight years’ experience as a Patent Agent and a proven track record with the firm, Patent Agents may be considered for “Distinguished Patent Agent” status. The Distinguished Patent Agent role includes involvement in firm management (including participating in decisions that impact the firm’s direction), client management, and participating in an annual bonus pool.
